Still River Ranch is a fully working Hereford cattle ranch nestled in the southeast corner of Fannin County, Texas in Northeast Texas. We pride ourselves in our Hereford breeding programs, and operate our ranch on approximately 1000 acres at the mouth of the scenic North Sulphur River.

Company Stll River started like most operations as a FFA project in 1959. We have seen a lot of changes in the cattle business, especially in Northeast Texas. Herefords then were small and white eyed so they had a lot of problems. We stopped short of the big ones when that was the trend. They ate too much. A lot of the time we don't see our cows when they calve . We have a couple hundred acres of native timber along what was Sulphur creek where they can hide. So we have to concentrate on calving easy or we will send the cow to cow heaven. We pasture on the two side of what is today the dredged head-in of Sulphur River. There is no water in it 90% of the time thus the name Still River. We have two rotation systems on the northside and southside of Sulphur. The cows move ever 5 to 10 days. Most of the pastures get 10 to 15 days of rest between grazing. We no-till oats over the top for winter grazing and most years we don't feed hay until after the first of the year.
